With over 3 miles of private access to the Madison River, not to mention several stocked ponds and native streams, you’ll have access to some of the best and most accessible flyfishing locations in Montana! Not to mention, the Ranch and home are just a few miles north of the famed, Three Dollar Bridge fishing access site.

In addition to the Madison River, you are very close to Hebgen Lake (West Yellowstone), which is is renowned for its rainbow and brown trout, averaging 19″ in length. These trout often cruise the calm waters, feeding on the surface for Callibaetis, Trico's and Spruce Moths. Fishing Hebgen Lake can be challenging but the rewards can be enormous! The Ranch is also very close to Cliff and Wade Lakes, which are exceptionally beautiful and filled with giant cutthroats!

Withy over 2,000 private acres of ranch land only accessible by owners and their guests, you will witness your own, private ‘Yellowstone” directly out the door. The house sits adjacent to an elk migration route (fall and spring) on land that may be considered part of the greater Yellowstone eco-system. The ranch resources include 3 ½ miles of riverfront on the Madison River, 2 trout ponds, a tributary of the Madison (Horse Creek), wildlife, and 12 plus miles of private roads for jogging and walking.

The best time to see critters is usually early in the morning or the late afternoon. Typically, we will take a (slow) drive around the property toward sunset and watch for moose along the river hiding in the aspen and alder, and then look for elk, deer, wolves, bear, and coyotes toward the hills. Just always have bear spray with you!

30 minutes up the road you’ll find drinking town with a fishing problem; Ennis, Montana. Although Ennis may have fewer than 1,000 residents, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in color. Here you can load up on flies, food, friendly conversation, and local craft beer and spirits. If you drive 40 miles south east, you’ll enter the famed town of West Yellowstone; the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. Although life on our Ranch is quiet and peaceful, be sure to spend some time in ‘West’ for a true adventure.

West Yellowstone is 42 miles; Ennis is 30 miles; and Bozeman is 90 miles. There are airports at West Yellowstone and Bozeman. The elevation of the house is 6000 ft.

Area activities include river, lake fishing, river floating (a boat launch just downriver from the house), hiking, sightseeing/ exploring, biking, horseback riding, camping, cross country skiing, and an enormous area of BLM Land and Beaverhead National Forest abutting the southern end of the ranch.
